During my art residency in New York City, developed in collaboration with Czech Center New York and Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, I explored the city as an urban scenario shaped by everyday situations and encounters. Through observation of daily rhythms—from the subway environment at Queens Plaza to informal and improvised uses of public space—I examined how small fragments of urban life reveal broader stories of belonging, displacement, and social change.
Focusing on sensory experience and field notes, the literal reportage reflects on how both human and non-human presences, temporary interactions, and layered historical traces influence the perception of the city. The residency became a method for understanding architecture beyond buildings, as a network of relationships formed through movement, memory, and everyday practices.
